A devastating earthquake struck just forty-eight miles northwest of Kathmandu, Nepal on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 11:56 local time (NST). Kimse Yok Mu contacted its partners in the region and began to purse live information ex- change regarding the events. By Sunday at 12:00 noon, İs- mail Büyükay, the Asia Voluntary Operation Leader, arrived at the region. The Search and Rescue Team of ten persons and press started their journey on Saturday, April 25, 2015, with a connecting flight via Malaysia. There, the representatives of the association were welcomed by Kimse Yok Mu’s Far East representative, and on the same day, they left for Nepal.

Upon arrival, the KYM ASIA team met with the UN team on the ground, assuring coordination. Kimse Yok Mu initiated search and rescue efforts at the disaster zones designated by the UN team. Also, emergency humanitarian aid was distributed to those in need at locations specified at the UN meetings according to information received by local officials who identified the areas desperately in need of aid. On April 28, 2015, a medical aid team of five per- sons departed for the region. Likewise, having held meetings with the UN, KYM provided mo- bile health screenings and distribution of medicines at those locations demanded by the local municipality. All efforts conducted were entered into the UN reporting system on a daily basis.
