Nepal Earthquake Response

- Samaritan’s Purse is targeting the needs of 50,000 HH. This will cover all the VDCs that have been assigned through government and partner coordination, as well as additional small projects outside of our primary areas of operation
- We currently have a 51 person DART based in Nepal, spread between Kathmandu, Nuwakot, Dhading, Rusuwa and Dolakha. There is also a 6 person DART procurement and logistics team based in Delhi, India.
- As of May 18, the DART medical team activities have come to an end as the immediate post-earthquake emergency needs have diminished. Performed 45 surgeries and provided care to 475 patients in need of post-earthquake care
- Our teams remain engaged in cluster meetings, and continue to seek out and capitalize on opportunities for distributions.
- To date, 94 trucks and 7 charter flights filled with 920 tons of relief supplies have been sent to Nepal.
- 3-4 trucks filled with supplies will be leaving our warehouses daily for distributions over the next week.
