HUMANITARIAN NEEDS
According to displacement tracking completed in mid-June, 107 of 286 displacement sites with at least 20 households have closed. A total of 104 sites remain in 13 districts and continue to host 11,147 households (59,433 people). Of the nearly 60,000 people in displacement sites, 49 per cent are male, 51 per cent are female and 14 per cent are children under age-5.
Based on the result of the third round of the Displacement Tracking Matrix, the Cluster has prioritised seven districts (Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Gorkha, Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Dhading and Sindhupalchok) for camp management based on the number of sites, total population in the displacement sites and growth pattern.
Lack of certainty on the government-planned temporary relocation and transit strategy indicate that camp coordination and management support may suddenly increase. It is also expected that the end of monsoon may trigger additional population movements. For many communities, the level of housing damage and ability to rebuild remain key considerations for people considering return as an option.
