The following early recovery priorities have been set under the leadership of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (MoFALD) and the Ministry of Urban Development:

Debris management and safe demolition With over 600,000 houses destroyed and another 280,000 damaged, approximately 50 million cubic metres of debris need to be managed where the priority is the estimated 2 million cubic metres from damaged public buildings.

Community infrastructure & livelihood recovery Of some 2.3 million households whose livelihoods have been disrupted, more than 500,000 need continued livelihood support. Other needs in critical community infrastructure are being assessed and consolidated at district level.

Restoration of critical local services Damage assessments indicate that more than 2,500 government buildings were destroyed by the April and May earthquakes where restoration of key public infrastructures are prioritized.
