The Agreement with Government of Nepal
CBM has entered into a historic agreement with the Social Welfare Council, Government of Nepal on November 12, 2013 by jointly signing the project agreement. This entails CBM to operate a country office in Kathmandu, Nepal and recruit needed staff for monitoring of CBM supported projects in the country. The signing of this extremely valuable document seals the strong relationships that CBM has enjoyed with the government of Nepal. This also paves the way to formulate highly developed programmatic interventions with the Government, partners and disabled people’s organisations in the region.
As of November 2013, CBM already operates the Nepal country office which has now been made fully accessible for persons with disabilities. The office is located at Kathmandu and manned by two highly motivated staff. CBM hopes this arrangement will enable it to be in direct contact with partners, be fully compliant with local Nepali laws and contribute to the fullest extent to the cause of persons with disabilities in Nepal.
