Nepal: Dipping mercury affects hilly districts too as three die of cold in Rukum

Cold wave coupled with sudden drop in temperature has not only caused havoc in the Terai region of the country (by taking dozens of lives in the past one month alone), but has affected the hilly districts too as three people have succumbed to winter cold in Rukum so far.

The victims of extreme cold in the district are Man Bahadur Khadka,67, of Badarpani in Rungha VDC-5, Durga Budhathoki of Garayela VDC-9 and Sher Bahadur Badi, residing at the Muglu river bank. They had all died of cold.

Reports say normal life in the district continues to be severely affected by the extreme cold, with majority of the parts in the district witnessing heavy frost in the morning. Nepalnews.com
