Around 80,000 locals have been affected, as an important bridge over Dhobeni river in Baliya-Pathraiya VDC of Dang district in mid-west Nepal has collapsed due to the monsoon flood, said reports on Tuesday.
It was an old wooden bridge, which was in a dilapidated condition in absence of regular maintenance, according to the locals.
As there was no proper embankment, the swollen river encroached lands on both ends of the bridge leading to its ultimate collapse, added the locals. Nepalnews.com
